Hey y'all - I picked up a 4WD 2007 tree with 250k miles last week and am going through it. I knew the rear window didn't work when I bought it, but figured it would be an easy fix as I've seen tons of "fix it" videos on it. Even when I found out all the components back there (wiper, defrost) weren't working, I didn't fret. Well, I'm digging into it after none of the easy fixes worked. I thought it might just be a failed rear door ECU, but then I found this (see pic). Looks like a PO had issues with the window and just decided to screw a piece of wood into a channel to keep it in the up position. Classy!! I haven't removed it yet, but wanted to see if anyone has thoughts about why this was done and what I'm in for. It's super dirty back there so I think I need to take out everything and get the tracks cleaned up, but what might have failed to resort to such a desperate measure? I also found some black wiring tubing full of water and a nice hole drilled through the back near hatch locking mechanism. The window motor does work. I applied power directly to it, and it moves. I don't really care about the defrost or wiper, but the rear window was a big draw for me to the Sequoia (for carrying long lumber out the back, and more importantly, for my dog to enjoy). Appreciate any help/thoughts/advice...
