Hey Guys. Just picked this 13 up the other day. Still trying to figure out all the buttons. Impressed thus far. Few small issues (memory seats and easy entry not working, sunroof weather stripping impeding movement, and loose center console door). Reading through all the threads has been helpful. Trying to figure out why the rear power hatch won't open automatically via the horizontal button under the hatch. Thanks for all the good info

There is an on/off button for your rear hatch by the steering wheel. See if it is off.

I think the button is a "turn the button on to turn the power lift off" button, as in - if the light is lit up, the power hatch is off. LX owners can confirm or correct. Lowly LC owner here. :)

I also have a 13 LX. So if the power rear door open off button right of the steering is popped up then the power rear door is ON. You should be able to power open it from the fob and from the button on the left of the steering. As for autonopening from the rear gate button, that is what your arm is for :) I don’t think there is a way to do it

I echo coleAK's comments.

Releasing from the hatch itself is a manual operation. Faster IMO this way at it relies on the normal hydraulic struts.

There seems to be some change in the latest LX's in that this behavior has changed to full auto open when releasing at the hatch.

Makes sense, thank you

Now just need to figure out the memory seat and enrtry assist thing. Also just noticed this button that’s missing a cover. Didn’t see any images that indicates what it is. Any thoughts?

There's a little beauty cover that goes over it. Possibly common to many Yota's.

I'd look around. Under seats, arm rest storage, glovebox. May be hiding somewhere.

It’s the “repo” button. So the repo guy can shift from park to neutral without the key. I use it when Its on the frame lift for oil changes to also easily lube the drivelines. I leave my cover off.

It should be the same part for the majority of Toyota vehicle as they have been using that for as far back as I can remember. I see them as cheap as $1.50 online.
