i am looking to get a new set of meats, i do not have the money to get flares so i do not want to go wider!
so i am looking at 33 10.50 15!
so there are very few tires in that size!
how are the bfg mud-terrain ta km2?

I run with a guy who has a set, they are decent and seem to where really really well. He has made his second trip to colorado on them without any flats or odd wearing patterns.

For what its worth,

The super swamper TrXus MT is by far the best tire i have used. I averaged about 30,000 on my last two sets and they NEVER left me stranded.

Currently I am running a Maxxis Bighorn 235/85R16.
The measure out to be a 32x10. The road manners are ALOT better than the TrXus, but I just dont seem to have the bite I used to. Probably due to the lack of sidewall tread.

The TrXus are unmatched in traction on snow/ice, rain, mud, sand, rock, leaves, trees... You name it and I got traction.

The only down fall to the TrXus is balancing. One of mine didnt balance well when I swapped to an aluminum rim. It basically became a square.

I run with people who run swamper tsl, irocs, thornturds, bfg at/mt/km, wrangler mtr... basically most any tire you worth purchasing.

My tires were 31x10.5 and the smallest of the other guys was a 34x9.5, yet i kept up. When the mud didnt engulf their tire, it was coming through my door jams...

The last time i was pulled off of something it was before i bought my toyota. It was a k-5 blazer, running... yep, TrXus MT... I had slipped off a rock and it went between the tie rod and the axle, So we jacked that side up and they yanked me off it. Used a rachet strap to pull the tie rod back towards the axle and wheeled the rest of the day.

Alas, they do not have an 33x10.5R15... Damn...

My buddy Paul has 35x12.50 BFG TA/KM on the front of his truck with about 3/8" tread @ about 50,000 miles, on the rear he has 35x12.50 KM2's @ about 45,000 miles and they appear to wear just as well as the older muds. He rotates frequently, and does not have exessive pavement wear because of selectable lockers. He racks up the miles quickly, because that is how it is in west Texas. On my 4runner I get slightly fewer miles from mine, because of detroits, but with frequent rotation they wear very flat and still feel good, though they do get louder with age. Daniel has 33x10.50x15 on his FJ40 and they appear to be wearing right in line with the rest of the BFG muds.
Bottom line for us seems to be that if you need a radial for extended highway use the BFG's get you best bang for the buck. You can buy a better mud tire for sure if you are after a bias ply play toy tread, but if you need an all around highway/mud/nice ride/etc. BFG muds still rule.

30k miles on a set of tires isn't great... New tires every 2 years?

For a swamper? To me thats fantastic, not to mention when I purchased them they werent overly expensive...

And I should clarify,
The first set was driven by some young idiot (me) who had a v-8, locking rear diff, and not a flipping clue on how much trouble he could get into...

The second set, which still has lots of tread left but got retired to the beater rig, was driven by a more mature (me) idiot with lockers and a 4banger.

I would consider the Maxxis Bighorn... Im used to the swamper offroad prowess, but... I havent really put these to the test... yet...

MT-762 Bighorn

-They dont have the size... bah humbug.

Had them for almost 8K, they definitely wear on a DD. I didn't push wheeling this year, the tread depth is ok but the edges are rounded. Snow/Ice sucks with rounded edges. They still ride well at speed.
