I am at a point on my build that I want to finish up the Saginaw power steering conversion. Looking for input as far as the tie rod/ drag link is concerned. Basically I only have mini truck arms and the sag box. It's the bigger bolt pattern not that it really matters for this question but? So where what would you do? I wish I had the money to just order the setup from Luke but funds have gotten scarce and am looking for alternate ideas. Thanks in advance mudders, your the best.

About twenty years ago I marketed a tapered bushing through Man-a-fre who sold it to specter and many others. It basically adapted the larger taper of the mini truck/FJ60 arm to the smaller FJ40 rod end. Some people have used starter bushings and other options that were soft enough to
crush to conformity. These are steel tapered bushings, machined specifically for the purpose. I have one set left. It took ten years to sell the first 100 sets so I dropped the idea of making more. At one time I believe Specter was having them made after I dropped them but I can't find them on their site. Using them allows you to use your original tie rod and the advance adapters conversion relay rod. PM me if you want to look into these

there are many write ups on here on this subject from big bucks to simple solutions as mentioned in this post good luck

LC thanks for the offer on the taper bushing. I wasn't really worried about sourcing the bushing, but if I can't find it I will definitely get in touch.

Shelfboy, your right. I have read up a bunch on this. I will just have to make a decision. I was, and have been having a hard time deciding which was the best solution.

Thanks guys

Unfortunately the best solution is not always the cheapest. I'd rather live on ramen noodles and peanut butter for two months and redirect the food savings to the best truck parts.....and I'm probably not the only one on this forum so twisted. I think there needs to be LCA group instead of an AA group for such addictions.....it would need more steps...we're stubborn
