I am in the process of wiring and installing new seats in the front. One is a Toyota seat that had the side curtain air bag fail and the other is a 2001 Land Rover Discovery Seat. Got the Toyota one for free from a mechanic at Toyota and got the Land Rover Driver's Seat from Craigslist. Both have heated seats and motorized chairs. They don't match eachother nor do they match the interior of my 62 but I only care about comfort for cheap. So far I have $100 in the project.
I assume that all switches and wires need fuses and relays just like offroad lights I have installed? Are there easier ways to wire the motors and seat heaters using less relays? Any combining?
Here's some pictures of the Land Rover Seat disassembled. I can't figure out what the black box is. It might be a relay? Can't find any info on the numbers.
The lumbar support is unusual. It has an air bladder, almost like a camel back that supports the lower back. It is hiding behind the mesh support. It has a small pump that airs it up and down inside the black bag on the left. Back up OBA
There are 3 fuses. Two 3 A and one 40 A. Why only three? Still working on that.
