Man I finally did it, the 16 year old radio finally went , plus 6 new speakers. Wow!! I am actually cranking my radio now to JACK FM.

Here is a line up of my install: Nothing over board, looked for Sale items etc.

Sanyo CD/CASS/Radio- CD-R/CDRW Playable, Full Logic Control
200 Watts, 50 x 4 channels, Bassxpander. Blends in well to dash
$ 200.00 Use I still listen to cassettes:eek:

Front Dash Speakers: Clarion SRC916 3.5 inch 60W Peak MIPP Woofer
$ 30.00

Front Door Speaker:s Blaupunkt 6.5 inch Thin Line. 180 W Max $40.00

Rear Door Speakers: Fusion 4 inch 120W $20.00

I had them disconnect Far Rear speaker, and remove the Toyota Amplifier. I kept on all my matching speaker covers, but wondering if I should put the new covers on the doors. What do you all think. Oh yeah now I have a new cubbie space to through my cell phone, etc in.

I know this does not enhance my off road abilites, but should get my blood pumping, leading to more risky behavior.:cool:

I know this is a petty question, but do you notice that your interior trim vibrates/rattles excessively when you crank it?

I notice that if I even take it up to a higher than average volume my interior trim rattles like hell. I was thinking about upgrading the system to a level where I can no longer hear the rattle just to compensate;)

Sweet!!

Im running a Panasonic head unit with stock speakers... and man do they blow! I mean they are really blown! They make funny noises all the time. But im not big into sound in a dedicated trail rig. As long as i have some type of tunes im good. Instead of a cubby hole that i felt was wasted space i slapped in the Cobra CB radio that fits like a glove.

Saw Jack FM on saturday at new WICK'S furniture store ha

You know, I will have to test this more extensively.... I will get back to you all.

Agree. Not big into the stereo, scene. Thus the 16 year old piece of sh...and blown torn speakers. Seems like heaven now, actually hearing a song the way it supposed sound.

Here's a question, what can I put in the far rear speaker space??? I was thinking one of those round trailer type overheard lights that I can turn off an on from the the tail gate area

:grinpimp: Looks great; cant wait to hear it.

I would love to find a replacement unit that replicates the stock look at least a black colored unit in green illumination.

Unlike most guys here, Im still at the top of the necessary mod list so no radio replacement for awhile.

Congrats John. Sometimes the mods that don't neccessarily help wheeling ability or make you look cooler can be the most rewarding.

I know this thread is old but did you have any problem putting the front speakers in? I have had a hard time fitting any quality speakers in the front due to the extremely small door depth. Most speakers I have seen are too deep and the magnet hits the frame for the power door. I have utilized different sized spacers between the speaker and the door panel to push the speaker magnet away from the window frame but then the speaker hits the bottom of the interior dash. I see you used some "thin line" speakers, are these magnets touching the frame?

Mine do not touch, the magnets do not as thick. I also used the existing covers and mounting holes. I picked up the Blaupunkt Thinline 6.5 at Fry's Electronics. Hope you get it sorted out.

I mounted a pair of Pioneer 4' 2ways that improved sound immensely and they were shallow enough that the magnets did not touch. I can't find the part number though. :doh: I will try to look it up.
