I am new to not only this DB, but also the world of FJ55. I fully expect many, many little dudes flipping me off after asking this question so .....don't let me down everyone!
What parts are interchangable between the years of these FJ55s? How will I know if someone's part that they are selling will fit my 72? Thanks for the info everyone, and if this has been addressed somewhere else, let me know. I am trying to get around the DB....later dudes!

On my 69 the brake lines are different, pretty sure they are 9mm vs the 10mm on your 72,that was a real headache for me when i did the disc brake conversion. Just a heads up. Have fun
I took the wheels and tires off the front today and cleaned 37 years worth of grease, dirt, and caked on tar. The brakes look to be on their last leg. I am contemplating getting the disc break sets. Since I am new at this... where is the best place to get them? Ebay sells them...but is that for chumps (like me) who are learning and taking the easy way out? I am also going to need new shocks soon! Yippee!
