Hey all,

I searched this but was unable to find much. I ordered a new rack (44250-60050, not 44250-60050-84) last week from Olathe that showed up today. Upon taking it out of the box there was a bit of clear fluid that had leaked out of. This seemed more like assembly fluid or something to that effect as it was not ATF and looked to be coming out of the feed and return line holes, but I did want to make sure this was nothing of concern before starting the job as it’s going to be a war on my rusty truck.

Pics of said fluid in box

EDIT: This is normal "anti-rust" fluid, similar to what brake rotors are coated in (smelled similar as well). Clear to proceed!

The rack should contain some oil to keep it from rusting. the rubber stoppers in the inlet and lutlet does not make a perfect seal the the body so it can leak.

Thank you all for confirming, will start on this after work this evening (energy and patience levels permitting!)
