New Procars and interior install

The rear heater control is just bent down, and I can reach under the console and move it. I used all 5 of the OEM screw holes and just bolted the box directly down. I did stick a piece of foam under the front corner of the box next to the PS to even it out. It's very solid and does not move.

And here is the door picture someone asked for.

Very good question. mmw68, can you post up a couple of pics showing how you dealt with the rear heater and it's controls?

I see that you have your forum account set to filter out "swear" words...

I CAN SEE! Thanks for the info, I thought the filter was built into the site...

This weekend I finally got my Procar Elite seats in, and decided to pull everything out of the cruiser and insulate it using the QuietCrap sound deadner...

The seats and door panels look very good! I like how you did the door insulation as well - good tips, insulation is next on my non-mechanical list.

Any additional rattling/noise from the procar seats?

The Procars are very solid, and mounted to he OEM seat tracks. Lots of folks run these seats.. with no problems.

I am astonished at how great that all looks. SUBSCRIBED! And now I have to figure out how to pay for all that stuff! Those seats look just incredible and are am amazing value.

I have to ask...how do those Procars compare in overall quality to an OEM seat (of any manufacturer)? Trying to decide between finding nice Volvo seats (or some other seat that with a little modding will fit), or with Procars (or some other aftermarket seat).

The interior of your cruiser looks amazing. This is more of a show car than an offroader. I could never bring myself to put in such nice interior as I am always dirty when working on the truck or offroading.

Well done.

Thanks - this is my daily driver, poser truck, not going to be a wheeler. It will see a occasional weekend trip with the boy scouts, but my FJ40 is way cooler to take for that.

This is my third set of Procars. I think the fit and finish for the $$$ is well worth it. Even the double stitching on the seats, my upholstery guy was very impressed with the quality. We had a long discussion about re-doing my old FJ62 seats, going to the junk yard, and finding seats, at the end of the day - for the ease of install and quality of the seat for the $250, you really can't go wrong.

Another question regarding the center console Mark... Did you mount the heater switch (hi/low) somewhere on the console, if so is the console easy to cut into to create a blank for the heater switch, or did you leave the heater switch hang loose until a fit is determined?

In all my years of owning several FJ62's I can count the number of times I used the rear heaters. As for the switch, I just left it tucked between the seat and the console. Iam guess you could relocate it to the dash, it should fit.

rear heater

I use my rear heater every winter. I put my ski boots on the rear floor right by the heater. I blast the heat into them on my way up to the ski every every morning. That way they nice and pliable and easy to get into. Not to mention that they are also nice and toasty.

I agree... I don't use mine much either. It's good for keeping fast food warm though. :hillbilly:

I was impressed with your console, ordered one (shipping) and started thinking about the heater switch and wondered if you had done anything. I might try to work it into the 'coin holder' or something...

The interior looks awesome! I installed an aftermarket console and moved the heater switch up into one of the blanks on the dash by the ashtray. I just added wire and went under the carpet and up behind the dash with it.
After seeing your pics, I now need to start saving up for some interior goodies!

Mark, are you able to operated the rear heater valve? Can you reach up under the back to it? Reach down through the console?

That console looks like just the trick, and at $60, not a bad price at all. I would love to have an arm rest, is it the right height?

I have the Procar seats in my 62, and love them. On my list of "best mods", along with quite a few other things though....

I've been looking at the Procar seats as well bt was looking at the elite Lumbars. They look amazing and having lower back problems which are exacerbated on long trip, these are the answer.

Thanks for the great pics.

I am needing to do new seats in my 60. I am trying to decide which seats to use...I've been looking at the Hunsaker Suspension seats that are modeled after the Mastercraft Baja RS. Anyone have any pros/cons to this thought???
