Greetings Pig fans,

I am thinking about taking on a new project and was hoping to get some input from those of you more familiar with Pigs.

I am seriously contemplating buying a '71 Pig (from Buckethead here on Mud). My thoughts are: SOA (and shackles?) to fit a set of 39's I am itching to put back on something. Or, I'm really thinking about trying to source a wrecked FZJ80 chassis and driveline to transplant the FJ55 body onto. (I fell in love with Ryan's green and white Pig that IPOR did.) And Gary's FJ45 pickup on FZJ80 chassis.) Think that would be a neat restomod.

I know I'm all over the map here, and I haven't even bought the thing yet. I won't need it to be a DD, and it probably won't even be my trail truck, just a fun run around town, haul the dog truck. So, high speed handling isn't a huge concern.

Does anyone care to share an opinion/experiences with me? SOA? FZJ80 chassis swap? If I'm contemplating something sacraligious with a clean Pig let me know that too.

Thanks for your time.

Sorry no experience, but I would like to see a 55 on FZJ80 frame. I am thinking about this also but it would be a while in the making. Good Luck!

If you are interested in doing a 80 chasis swap you might want to talk to ht4fun he took a rolled 80 and made a home made 45 out of it.

And its your Pig have fun.

thanks

Thanks to all. Have PM'd both for their thoughts. What do you know about the green/white 55 that IPOR did for Ryan? I fell in love with that one.
