How's it going guys, my name is Stefon and I'm located in Fayette Co. I've always wanted an LC and I my patience paid off with this $300 purchase!

220,000 miles and the motor runs flawless however the truck will need a new rear end/driveshaft which I found one for $400 at Quality Auto Salvage in Fayetteville. I'm working on a college student budget and wanted to know if any forum members would assist me in doing the job (or guide me through the process).

I'd like to get this truck running so I can participate in meets and trail rides with you all. Hope to meet everyone soon

Yeah, there were tons of vibrations but when I locked the center diff, it just made a winding noise, not as much of a rough ride. PO thought it was the transmission but it was the driveshaft and pinion that was wrong.

good find and fairly easy to repair. tear it down and figure out what the real issue is.

Awesome find! I like to see more 80 in the crew...

What year is your 80? Since you said you locked the center diff., I am assuming its between a 91-93 since they came standard with a center diff. button

Welcome aboard!

I'm sure its the pinion/bearings that are in the rear end that need replaced but all of that is $50 cheaper than the rear end I found at Quality. She leaks oil after running to so I'm going to try and trace down where the leak is coming from.

Got stuck once this weekend, otherwise I was pretty impressed at what this stock rig could do on bald tires

You should have come to Choccolocco on Saturday...

I was planning to but work got in the way so I stayed close to home. Hopefully I'll be able to come to the next get together
