Hello Everyone, I am happy to finally join the LX470 family with the purchase of this fine 2000. I have been lurking in the shadows for 2 years and was finally able to find a 100 series that was solid and within budget. I am really looking forward to the many years of joy/pain that this truck will bring. We are stepping things up from a '94 4runner and are finally able to fit all 3 car seats into something that can head up to the mountains (CO) and enjoy the scenery (wife has a Sienna which is comfy but can't quite make the good camping spots). I am incredibly exited about the garage additional that the previous owner gifted me for storage of the 3rd row seats. He is a hobby woodworker and made this bench to make use of the 3rd row when not installed. He also built out the drawer system for the back! Right now there are no plans to kit this out for offroad as it will be my daily driver and needs to haul the kids comfortably until they are not all in car seats . I have already found this community to be incredibly helpful and have solved a key/fob issue already with previous threads. Right out of the gate I need to replace front CV axles and brackets and do a front brake job but other than that this truck is good to go. We eventually want to get a small pop-up style camper that we can tow and do some more comfy camping but that is likely a year or two down the line.

Welcome and really cool sofa you found :-)

Nice car!
I was looking for a white one initially when purchasing one.

I would baseline other stuff if you have a new car and not sure what the owner did to it. Check if the previous owner did the timing belt recently, not sure how many miles on that thing. I swapped all my fluids initially, so engine oil obviously, brake fluid which you can do after you change brakes, steering atf fluid, ahc fluid, diff and transfer case oils. If you're replacing CV axles some front diff fluid will leak out, so you might as well change that oil.

The other stuff just see what needs replacing and do it as they need. Also take proactive measures against rust if you're in snow or watery areas or taking it to places like that. You can never be proactive enough against Rust that's what kills these cars in the end but you're in CA so life likely isn't so bad.
