Hello all. Long time lurker, first time poster. This will probably be a long post as it's basically my love letter to my GX.
I have a 2004 GX470 that I bought about a year and a half ago. It came with 145K miles and a rebuilt title. Engine and drivetrain are in great condition but I keep finding... strange things going on under the hood. Missing fasteners, broken connectors, plugs that go nowhere etc. Little things that can be annoying but don't seem take away from the function of the vehicle. It has some sort of lift but I have no idea what or how much. The previous owner also did a KDSS delete and put some sick wheels on. Thank you to him.
Since owning I've only done front/rear brakes (and a brake line that I accidentally snapped), CV axles, center diff seal and fluid, oil changes, spark plugs, and trans fluid. Planning to replace the ball joints and control arm bushings next week. I'd love to do bumpers and other mods but I'm pretty broke so small stuff for now.
My main purpose for this was camping and trailhead access. I followed a post by some guy on reddit and built this nice 2-piece sleeping platform for the back that still retains rear seat function. It fits a full-size mattress is almost the size of a truck bed so you can haul a lot of s***.
Anyway, here's a bunch of photos:
