Hello everyone,

I just bought a 1993 Land Cruiser. First Land Cruiser I have owned, so I’m sure I’ll be looking here for help often.

It has couple of issues that I wasn’t aware of before getting her home. No AC and water leaking into the passenger side floor. 😔 It also has a few issues I was aware of, center diff lock light not lighting ( it supposed to be engaging just no light), power antenna doesn’t work, and there some rust on the rear differential and trailer hitch. She got good bones but definitely needs some work. I’m hoping to get her to the point of being a reliable daily driver. After fixing the water leak, I’ll be checking into the health of the engine, she seems pretty weak.

I’ve already been researching the water leak issue. I’ll do some tests to see if I can determine for sure, but I’m expecting it’s the front windshield. The weather stripping looks pretty old and brittle so I was looking to get a new one. Does anyone know of a retailer in the US that sells OEM grade weather stripping? Only ones I’ve found available have been in Japan.

Best to use the OEM Toyota gasket. New OEM windshield glass is no longer availible. The consensus is buy the gasket yourself and supply that to a glass installer along with FSM instructions for adhesive which is unique to the LC attaching gasket to body then glass to gaskets both using the adhesive.

Water on the floor can also be blocked sunroof drains. Many threads can be found on the subject.

I use https://partsouq.com/?utm_medium=cp...MkO6zjZJw8BT-S5-r2aJGm1-xX25HIZBoCzJcQAvD_BwE

to find my part numbers then start searching. Toyota runs sales though out the year and you can pick up the parts at your local stealership.
Or if the price is better enough to cover shipping and tariffs I'll buy from Partsouq.

good luck and I hope to see you on the trails. We get up that way once a year or so.

Good luck. I bought a ‘92 in Nov and some of your same problems. Some different and trying to systematically work through them. It’s sometimes fun and sometimes frustrating, but I am glad I have an 80 and you will be too.
