After months of looking all over SoCal for a white 3FE 80, I found one parked in a driveway about ten minutes from my house. with a smile and some confidence I knocked on the door and asked if I could buy it. Long story short, I picked it up for $1000 because the owners (1 owner vehicle) said it needed work. It was stalling and had very poor brakes, and it was leaking a little oil. I replaced the air intake hose and fixed the stalling, replaced the PBB and it now has brakes. However, the oil leak, appears to be coming from the rear main seal, is way beyond my pay grade.
I went to K&H in Canoga park and was in awe of their shop full of FJ's, but had sticker shock when they told me the labor rate. I live in Ontario. A service tech informed me that a rear seal is not that difficult, and I could probably find someone closer to me, again, in Ontario, that could do it.
So, my question is, who can I trust. The draw of K&H is that they have done this hundreds, if not thousands, of times before. Who would you recommend out in this area?
Thanks in advance, and I really look forward to being a part of this community.
