Just picked up the cruiser from Yotamasters. 5.29s installed and all I can say is, wow! It's like a whole new cruiser. I actually have power on the freeway and taking off from a stop doesn't feel painful.

I can't wait for Surf n Turf to try it out in the sand.

At about 70 I'm hitting 26-2700 RPM. The engine seems to enjoy it.

OOOOh, that's on my list. How much installed if you don't mind?

Very cool! Glad you like em and glad you took it to Yotamasters. We run 5.29's with 33's :D

They said someones 80 was in the shop, but i didn't know who's.

I was thinking of going back to 35s but the engine spins high enough as it is. Since you guys are 55mph and under that probably works great for you.

It was about $2200 for everything including rebuilding the front knuckles with new bearings and new brakes.

I got in on that same group buy. Nitro gears.

So that YOTAmas cost was only labor, correct... Was it a new pinion bearing (front or back) that went bad?

alaskacruiser ( https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-...having-robbie-powderpig-socal-la-oc-area.html ) was trying to get Robbie to come to SoCal, I inquired about Robbie doing the R&P along with rebuilding the front knuckles....after adding up everything, labor will run about the same cost as YOTAmas ~ : )

It was a new pinion bearing in the rear, the one that came with the group buy kit.

Yotamasters charged me $1290 for labor. That included replacing a broken lug, drilling and tapping some other bolt in my knuckle, new caliper kit for the rear brakes, installing new caliper brackets, and one of those trail gear receiver hitch D-ring thingies (it was sitting on the counter and I had to have it).

I looked into having Robbie do mine as well but his prices weren't any better and I like having a shop I can take it back to if something goes wrong.
