A guy on the Expedition Portal installed a pair on a buddies rig and said this:

"I helped install a set of these for a buddy and got a chance to drive his rig around for a bit.

Night and day difference between these and the OMEs that they replaced. Fox pretty much nailed the valving on them right out of the box."

I hope they open up ordering again. I have cash $$$. I spoke with the Fox rep at Offroad Expo and he was not familiar with the application of the 80 at all.

I really wanted to get the fox shocks for my 80. But the whole we have to wait until SEMA thing even though some people got to purchase them already thing turned me off. I went with Radflo's. They go on tomorrow and I have to say that Glen at Radflo has been a joy to work with. He obviously knows shocks inside and out and helped me to decide which shock would be perfect for my application. From time of order to my front door was four days for front and rear resi bolt in shocks for my 80.

Right on. Did you have to go through Metaltech? I spoke with Radflo at the expo as well and they were able to show me the actual shock for the 80. It was beefy but the price per shock almost made me lose my lunch. Icon mentioned they had theirs ready and Kings looked great too but $$$.

Both. I ordered through Metaltech but spoke with Glen directly at Radflo.

I need rear rear shocks ASAP. OME shocks are utterly crap they only lasted 32K kilometers or 20k miles :bang: i was doing an overland trip around south america. and the shocks where only used 4k kmts before the trip. Almost half way point through the trip the rear end was whaling all over. Mind you i run a heavy truck. arb winch bumper, warn 9.5xp, dual battery (65 series), metal tech sliders with 2 gallon air tank, 4x4labs bumper with tire and ladder/2 jerry can holde and hi-lift, 2 hanna interior cargo/jerry can holders, in beatwin them i have 2 custom made drawers + 40l engel fridge with slider and custom cage, also hace a 10" sub inside the right rear quarter panel + inverter, extreme air compressor and 2 alpine digital amps, the floor has been cover with rhinolining and on top of that dynamat on most of the floor and doors.
My rear springs are 864 and i think they eat shocks for breakfast. so need rebuildable shocks, either fox 2.0 or radflow 2.0/2.5. or weld new mounts and get eye to eye rebuildable shocks.

If anyone ordered shocks and hasn't talked to Cruisercouple shoot me a pm as soon as possible.

From fox? News on the first round orders? I have been waiting for these fox shocks, but this is getting kind of old....

Looks like its about to get older Jynx. My contact is no longer at Fox. Sorry, i have no insight as to what will happen to these shocks for 80 series in the future as this was a pet project by the person that was let go. With our trucks being 16-18-20 years old i don't think there's enough demand for the company to run with them, but we'll see. I'll let you know if i hear otherwise. My apologize for bad news, but again, im not fox and i was just the test monkey caught inbetween.

SOCAL, no worries man, I understand completely. I guess when I get ready to go down this road, I will either do some mods and get some eye to eye shocks, or look into some of the other options. May bug you a little for some valving info when that time comes.

Any info on the stabilizer or was this all the same guy.

Oh and thanks for taking it this far, we'll just have to wait and see what happens after SEMA.....

The steering stabilizer i believe was in the same boat. A creation from the contact that went along with the rest of the 80 series shocks. As for the valving, i was never told that. I've asked and had no response.

SOCALFJ,
You are correct, the steering stabilizer is in the same boat. As for the valving Ill let you know what they are next week, I will be going down to FOX here in Santee to have the rears adjusted to a firmer spec. i know yours will be different valving but none the less ill let you know so you have some idea of what they might be.

Are these available now that SEMA is in progress?

Sorry Dave, but these won't be available anytime soon... Long story, that doesn't end well for the person that was "producing" these on the side.

Good news, is that they do work very well, and were a direct bolt-in part. Hopefully some honest individual at Fox notices that there is a market for these, and takes the proper steps to getting these produced.

tim.korn.99 do you have any interference with how you mounted the rears??

It's close, but it clears! The only thing I don't really care about the way I have my reservoirs mounted, is the fact that the stainless line has a pretty tight bend in it. That's due to the fact that the line exits the shock body near the top, right where the frame is located.
I had to bend it pretty sharp to clear the frame, and still allow the resi to attach to the shock body.

For the fronts, it's no problem as there is a lot more room up top, but I'm probably going to end up mounting my rears like you have yours!

Just noticed that your rear sway bar attaches like the 95+ models!

You MAY have a clearance problem if you attach yours like I have mine.

*EDIT* Nevermind... I'm tired. Lol
