Just wanted to say hello to everyone!
Looking forward to spending lots of time and $ on my new project with some of you guys and gals!!
And for the comedy factor I didn't own my 96 for more than about a hour before I rear ended a Kia. Poor Kia, hardly left a scratch on me though. OK maybe a small dent in the front bumper.

Congrats on your new truck, and welcome to the club! If you rear-end someone in Jackson, just hint that you are going to call the police and report it. That usually sends the Kia (or whatever) scurrying away. You'd be surprised how many people have warrants, no insurance, etc. and don't want police coming to the scene. It has worked well for me several times I have knocked the crap out of people with my big nasties over the years.

Cheers, Ben

WELCOME!

There are several people in the club that love being rear ended, so their gonna love you.:grinpimp:

Get ready to learn some stuff about your 80.

Well I got the wifes birfs apart right now, just installed 2 new ones.:)
Waiting on Jackson Powertrain to rebuild the front diff:crybaby:
She had one (RF) that would bind when removed but the (LF) would move freely so I said while they are out just change them both.

Whats your plan of attack......replace, switch sides,longfields-just curious because I have heard of the switch working but most times it does not.
Honestly if they are that bad a replacment is in order for that amount of work.

Oh yea.....Euclid keeps folks in line.....play nice with the bear:skull:

It's a mall cruiser he just bought. I was thinking that the knuckle bearings were making the noise. Do 80's screw up birfs on the road or something? Why replace them?

I don't know nuthin bout no 80.

Well yes & no.......
80's after a few miles will have a clicking noise when turning-mostly noticed at low speeds. This is due to them being full time 4x4 on the road.
As far as wheel bearings they will tend to roar more with time.
 Thing is if he is trying to fix one thing & tears it all apart might as well repack & reseal everything while in there. Not to mention install new wheel bearings along with trunion bearings.

Oh yea, you know lots..............................:smokin:

I told him to get wheel and knuckle bearings. I'm thinking his birfs should be fine, yes? I'm on the same page as you, while you are in there replace the bearings.

Seals and bearings, roll on?

I think he should just roll up the windows and turn the radio on really loud. No more clicking.
