Sold my 2000 LC. Just picked up a 2012 FJ Trail team edition! I love it! A couple of questions though. One do all FJs come without a passenger arm rest? Wife didn't like that she had no place to put her arm " but hey thats her problem i got one :) ". Also i thought the trail team came with rubber weather tech mats? i got regular carpet ones. If anyone has a answer for me I'd appreciate it. Thanx.

Not sure about the mats issue, but the passenger arm rest is actually am option on the FJ. I assume that applies to the TT Edition as well.

You can order a passenger seat arm rest online... it's a very easy install.

My 2010 TT came without mats... likely a reaction to the gas pedal issues on other Toys. I got some husky liners, they are great!

Welcome!

Sold my FZJ80 about a year ago, and have been searching for a replacement. Having made the jump over to the FJC, what do you miss and not miss about your Land Cruiser. Are you experiencing any significant differences in capability between your new FJC and previous TLC.

Obviously size is the first difference. Fj is significantly smaller, which for me is a good thing. " my wife has a Sequoia, so no longer needed such a large truck". Your giving up the luxury items leather , power, and heated seats. The LC ride was also smoother, where the fj has more of a truck feel . Which I personally like. The smaller size and wheel base also make it better for off roading. If you need a truck for some serious trail time the fj is the way to go.

Thanks. Main use of the FZJ80 was to drive to Colorado from S. Tx with my wife and kids. The size of the FJC was a big concern for that. But, there's a big price tag associated with that size. Thanks for the feedback.

Meaning the 80, right?

Yeah, I caught that also. As someone who has owned both simultaneously, I'd give the following feedback...

The FJC is more responsive on road capabilities, very nicely laid out interior, well designed overall. As capable as it is, its would not be my first choice off-roading "serious" trails. The obvious weakness of the IFS on the FJC is significant. A factory locked 80 is a strong off-roader.

Their track width is very similar, they wheel very similar, meaning a lot of 3 wheeling with one front wheel or the other being in the air. The radius arms don't allow a lot of articulation similar to how the IFS doens't flex well.

I guess its obvious where my preference lies since the '97 FZJ80 is in the driveway and the FJC isn't...
