New Carrier in...BUT!

After putting my truck off the embankment last week, I got my new carrier in, and got it all done yesterday. Special thanks to spressoman! I've got a real good picture of the crack in the casing. I was curious if anyone else has ever done this?

Now, the ABS light is ON! I'm guessing it has something to do with my reinstall of the axles and speed sensors. Any idea how to determine which one is causing the problem? Also, any other possibilities it could be?

Oh, and I'm thinking about replacing the casing and having the old carrier rebuilt with a 4 pinion; or maybe an ARB. Might be able to recoup some of my cost? Suggestions on where to have it rebuilt, should I just sell it as is, or am I crazy for thinking I could get some $'s for it?

My guess is that it's worth nothing. I would write it off and move on. I certainly would not spend any more $$ on it. Shotts was giving this away free a few months ago, and that's assuming the parts are still any good. Did you replace with an ARB? That is the "carrier" if so. Your housing is obviously toast. Nice breakage pic!

check your abs wires

Check your abs wires. They stretch easily and one could be severed inside w/o showing on the insulation. you can check continuity on the wires in a few spots until you narrow down where the break is, than strip & solder very carefully if your very careful, or replace w/ new one. They could have been stretched when the upper balljoint was disconnected.
