So, we've owned several Toyota 4X4's (in chronological order) 95 DX X-Cab 4X4, 96 Tacoma, 92 FJ80, 97 FZJ80, and 98UZJ100!

The Thursday before New Years I bought this Axial SCX-10 and spent the weekend building it. I chose the color of our old 95 4X4 for this rig and I'm really happy with how it looks! It's my second RC build, the first being a Tamiya Toyota stadium truck which I no longer have.

After the build, It needed some personal touches. I ordered a Tacoma grille, some camping/trail accessories and whipped-up a batch of homemade bungee cords that were both easy and fun to make! I wrapped each wheel with 3 oz. of tape wheel weights and it seems to drive fine.

The team at Hobbytown in Folsom were a huge help answering all my questions and helping me decide on this rig.

Now the pics!!

That's really nice! THese things are so much fun!

Looks like you already have some body damage? or is that just the light hitting on the DS door?

What damage, where???!!!! :D JK, it is just a reflection!!

I sold it no long after this post I started. 3 years later I bought it back, ($100 for everything, incl radio, charger, everything I had when I sold it)! she's not so pretty and needs some repairs. I'm glad to have it back, it will be fun restoring it and having fun with it once again!!

It lost the bungees, Jerry can, tool box, jack, shovel, and winch but those are easy to replace. The 3 link connector to the rear diff is broken, and the headlights need to be re-wired.

I washed the body in the sink with soap and water tonight and am charging the battery. I've forgotten a lot about it over the years and had to actually look at this post to see what it used to look like.

I almost want to spend a weekend day disassembling, cleaning and reassembling it. Is that weird?
