Well after six months of waiting for the slow boat from OZ, the ARB Sahara slated for the wife's 99 LX470 finally arrived last week. I was going to attempt the install myself, but with a tight schedule for vacation already scheduled for last week and my poor mechanical skills, I gave in and had it installed :)

Attached are a few pics of the new bar , all pics taken btw from the driving vacation last week, what a blast. We logged just under 2K miles driving from Phoenix to LA, up to Pacific Coast Hwy to San Fran, then over to Yosemite, down 395 to Mt Whitney, and back home. Beautiful country to say the least...didn't do much wheeling though :(

Next mods planned for the wife's rig are sliders and a rear bumper.

Beautiful bumper... looks great. But the car is so shiny white it hurts! Get some mud on it! :grinpimp:

Looks good, so does the white.

Time to lose them runnin' boards. Oh wait, it's the wife's rig. :princess:

You are right - next mod is to lose the running boards for sliders and then get a rear bumper - have not decided on make yet.

Funny thing, the wife liked her running boards for function and looks, but after the Sahara bar went on she noticed that the factory running boards just didn't "look right" anymore - yippee! :)

I am leaning on Slee step sliders and the Kaymar rear...as it has integrated class3 hitch receiver built in. Need to research the Slee rear bumper as well and see how it is set up for towing.

Running boards take about 30 minutes to take off and man after I did mine it looked like a diffrent beast

Are those 285's or 295's on you LX

Thanks, good to know...can't wait to get these off. Those are 285s.

Very nice.
Did you make any changes to your front suspension with the extra weight of the bumper?

Here are some pics of the sahara and kaymar bars on my LX...

No suspension mods. The rig rides about 3/4" lower when the AHC is in low, but in N and H, it's the same as before. With the sahara bar winch/mount plate installed but with no wing, the vehicle sat about the same as w/ OEM bumper. I didn't notice as much as a difference from mounting the kaymar rear bar.
