ARB bars are a compromise! Yes im Australian...

When we hit a kangaroo we would rather replace a bullbar then a vehicle due to a twisted/bent chassis rail.

With a solid bullbar and solid mounts it is not difficult to bend the chassis. With extremely strict regulations about straightening chassis rails our insurance companys are VERY quick to write off a vehicle as an "un repairable write off" (basically all it is good for is spare parts). With this in mind ARB has gone to the effort (including rigorous testing mind you) to create a bar that will take the bigger hits WITHOUT risking damage to the rails.

Each to their own, a bullbar here in Australia isn't just designed for clearance on the rocks, but more for stray wildlife. There is no 'higher populated' wildlife area in Australia, it is widespread. Any rural area will have kangaroos/cows/sheep/goats/horses etc.

Ohh and nay come drive in Australia im sure we can find you many many challanges that will keep you happy for years!
