New to the forum but have been lurking for awhile. I just bought a right hand drive ‘92 80 series from my brother. The exhaust needs to be replaced especially the cats. I have done as much searching as I could to find this answer with no real luck. Im curious if anybody knows if left-hand drive cats would work on the right hand drive truck. Or should I just take it to an exhaust shop and have something built?

I’m excited to start messing and tinkering with the truck. I have to drive to NC next week to pick it up.

Correct it is a Japanese import. I will be picking it up next week hopefully. I will be able to get some pictures and grasp more of the problem when that time comes.

Yeah, was more thinking if O2 sensor locations, provision for cats etc would change his options for compatible products

That’s correct. We are dealing with this now on the Manta kit. Completely not useable on a US 80 without modifications and the addition of a cat and bungs.

So after getting the exhaust replaced. The exhaust Shop said that my cats were fine. It has new O2 sensors. I’ve also refurbished the injectors, new spark plugs, new spark plug wires as a new Toyota fuel pump new fuel filter and new fuel pressure regulator. I’ve also replaced the idle control valve and replace the TPS sensor in adjusted correctly. I’ve also replaced the fuel pump relay that is in the fender a new vapor canister, I have taken the throttlebody off cleaned. It made sure that the gasket is good. It has a brand new air intake hose. I’ve also gone through all of the vacuum lines. I’ve also replaced the vacuum lines that go from the valve cover to the intake manifold plus the PCV valve.

I am having a problem from idle until about 1500 rpm The truck stumbles and smells very rich. Once I get past that RPM range, the truck runs great it idles around 600 RPM but fluctuates ever so slightly there is also no high idle at cold start. From my research the only other thing that I could think it could be is that Afm sticking. I’m going to be taking the EGR off to clean it and check the wiring also but it looks as if the previous owner has already put heat shielding around that wiring. I do have an engine coolant temp sensor on the way.
Is there anything else anyone could think of that could be going wrong.
