So I waited to properly introduce myself until I could post pictures of my rig. Hello! My name is Phillip, I have a dog, a house, I am a speech therapist for individuals with autism, and I'm the proud owner of a new-to-me '92 FJ80.

I found him parked in the driveway of a cul-de-sac for which I had made a wrong turn into. I saw a lone FJ parked in the driveway at the end of the street, and decided to ask the owners fi they wanted to sell it. Long story short, they said yes. I got it for stupid cheap because the dealer misdiagnosed a few problems, and then quoted the owners stealership prices to fix it. The guy wanted nothing to do with the FJ, so it's mine.

A month later and I have gone through almost every system and either repaired or replaced everything wrong with it, and added a few fun parts along the way. Added an OME medium kit, put on some Yoko's and matte bronze SCS 5's, and cleaned the hell out of the interior. It was pretty clean already, so I cannot take that much credit.

The mods thus far are limited because I have been doing repairs and PM, but it's so damn fun already. I took him out today for a cruise up Baldy and some of the trails around there. Ran like butter.

Anyhow, I am excited to meet more of you, and I wish you all a great weekend.

Phillip

Welcome. I am also new to the 80's as of early January and am also in the IE. So far no mod's for me yet just baselined it, new radiator, switched out the stereo, and the big mod LED dome lights thanks to Mattafact.

Welcome to the club. Any plans for the truck?

Seems like yesterday when I bought mine and all I wanted were some 285's...

Looks awesome! What did you do with the stock wheels?

We've had a ton of fun doing it. Now get some tires!

Mattafact, I still have all five stock wheels with VERY good rubber on them. Four yoko HT's and the spare is a general grabber. the yoke's have about 4-5k on them. The grabber looks like it has been run, but not much. Interested?

As for plans for the truck, I'm still just going through and making sure it is going to make it to wherever I go and back. My 8yo doughtier and I have a big road trip through a few national parks planned for this summer; that was the catalyst for buying a trail-capable rig. In the near future a set of sliders and a rack are in order, as well as some lights. In the distant future I'd like a rear bumper/carrier and a drawer/fridge system.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'll try to make it to a meet-up soon.

Looks good!

I'm in IE also (Corona). If anyone is doing a little afternoon run locally post up.. ill roll out if I'm around.
