Well, not really. But I replaced the driver seat foam (bottom and back) and installed the LandTank seat brackets.

It literally feels like a new truck. My back is comfy and not twisted. Me right knee doesn't rest against the shift lever. And I can drive spread out and comfy. I had no idea a little more leg room could make such a difference. The drive to OX11 will be the real test, but overall the difference is amazing. If there is anyone contemplating spending the money - go for it!

The craziest thing is with my seat back the extra 1.5" or so from the LandTank brackets, the whole driving experience is completely different. The way the steering feels, the view over the hood, the feel of the road through the tires and suspension - everything feels like I'm driving a different truck. Kind of bizarre.

Nice - glad that worked out. Next step will be Shane's leather replacement. Just had that done, replacing the drivers side bottom seat cushion as well and I feel like I'm sitting up about 2" higher than before! I know I'm not, but after 16 years, the DS cushion was toast. New leather makes my old beast feel brand new! Color and fit are great!

Brent,

didn't realize you'd already done the Shane leather. I thought it was still around the corner to do.

Who did the install, what did that cost, and were you happy with the work? That's next on my list......!

Interest in your experiences here

Ditto on the above, interested in your experinece here. Being 6'6" myself the first thing I purchased for my 80 was the landtank brakets, but have yet to install after I got the instructions. Also considering the leather and new cushion at the same time and installing myself or finding resonable cost. But $ always stalls my progress.

While Landtank is clearly a brilliant engineering mind to have come up with the brackets, the instructions leave you scratching your head trying to figure out what to do. Once you getthe concept and figure out a few things that are not mentioned in the instructions, then the job is actually really easy.

My leather still looks practically new so thankfully I didn't have that expense. Replacing the leather over the new foam requires very careful planning because you have to attach your new hog rings in a specific sequence otherwise thing get impossibly difficult - especially the seat back.

It's only been a couple of weeks with Shane's new leather, but I'm very happy with it and the new DS cushion. Time and wear will be the ultimate test tho!

Pinged Romer on how his set has held up. IIRC it's been 2-3 years since he had installed his reading thru all the threads on 80 series installs, etc. He said they were doing just fine and he was still happy with them.
