From the NE. From our standards that looks like a rust free gem! lol Your going to have some rust on anything in the north where they use salt. Go to the coast by the beach and multiply it. Those pictures look super clean to me. Surface rust on the welds. That is nothing. A little maintenance and you can stop that in its tracks. It is not deep pitted rot or even close. I've owned vehicles in the distant past that you could poke a hole with your finger into a metal frame or body panel. That is rust and neglect.
I purchased a 2009, one owner hand written service records, with a rusty bottom in march this year. Really good deal. One of the first things I did was pull off the factory bash guards and treat lightly a few times with a rust convertor. Sprayed Kroil to loosen up the nuts and bolts to be serviced (3x a week 4 one month) The infamous KDSS opened right up, Nothing is seized at all. Anything I remove to service I just order new nuts and bolts because I know they are a tad rusted/corroded. This weekend I am going up to VT and ninja'd in an appointment with " my guy ". He is going to spray the under body. Got his own recipe. It's woolwax, bar oil, toilet rings, and some other things that are non mentionable. What ever whichcraft he is using works to stop rust works. He normally works on farm equipment.
If you live out this way it is what it is. You just deal with it and learn another skill set. Learn and adapt. Sometimes I wish I lived on the arid southern west. No Rust. But in the NE we adjust for rust. Anyone reading this if you buy any vehicle from VA and north on the east coast it will have some rust after 1 year. I promise you. If you live up here and buy any vehicle from a desert area it will have rust after a year if you don't do a thing. Promise. For the most part we kinda laugh at the folks that complain about rust. The frame is 100% but it has rust around the welds. AKA at least 10-30% off the price due to superficial rust. Great deal.
Yes if the body panels are rusted run. A 14' with low miles that the welds are just rusting take it. Use the rust to help you barter a bit. If you decide to pull the trigger just have it cleaned under side and a solid undercoating job done and you will be A OK. Those pics are the beginning of rust! It is only surface!
