I created a bumper option thread over of the 200 series pages. Please go take an look at it and let me know your thoughts. I did not want to post the exact same thread on both the 200 pages and our club pages.

New bumper options

Thank you.

Don't want to muddy your other thread but was the hit not that hard as in the air bags didn't deploy? Guess with the plastic how hard it hit can be deceiving. I know you said you didn't want ARB but noticed the two 4Runner bull bars I just picked have a according section in the front to help cushion the shock transmission to passengers in a accident. I know your 200 is fairly new but avoiding air bag deployment can make a big difference in the cost to repair. I remember reading there is a movement to band bull bars in Australia which may have lead to safety features being added by ARB or if these were added to keep the air bag from deploying sooner then they should not sure. I know my FJ62 ARB bull bar doesn't have the according section but have had it eight years and was also used.

No deployment of the airbags. It tweaked the hood, which is a bummer. The 200 is now in the good hands of CBT. Checking it out to make sure nothing is wrong mechanically.

Brice, for what your set up is, I feel the top bumper to too aggressive looking with the studs, stickers, and sharp angles. Im thinking the cleaner second bumper with body color match would be the bomb. The color match would take away some of the visual bulkiness of the bumper and make it flow.

VPR 1 gets my vote hands down. It's the only bumper I've seen on a 200 that doesn't look like an apendage protruding out in front of the truck.
Murf has a good point however, I would take full advantage of this unfortunate incident to upgrade further and lift it, tire and wheel it, and get one of those cool little hood scoops. Too much?

Oh man Brice that sucks! Glad no injuries, but how s***ty.

I agree with Murf as matching color would be sick! Would look awesome, be burly yet discreet (as a bumper can be) Good call on the two though, i do like both.

Doooo Eeeet!!

More ammo for my choice: The bumpers for the 200 series tend to dive downward, so the grill guard on VPR1 raises your eye and levels the look. This will be more noticeable from the side view. And don't forget, beauty is in the eye of the beholder as the woman said as she kissed the cow.

On my 99 4Runner buying a used bull bar made sense. Under $1K for a bumper and locker is not too bad for a sixteen year old vehicle that wasn't that expensive new. My wife wanting a bull bar threw me for a loop. Asked if she really wanted something that big on the front of her 4Runner. Ask if I didn't want her to be safe. Said didn't care what it looked like as long as it could help prevent a elk from coming thru the windshield and planting a big one on her. To her beauty takes a back seat to function.
