I'm in need of the lower end of a 3FE for an 88' FJ 62. If anyone knows of a motor or comes across a complete beater with less than 200K let me know.

Also need right side rear passenger glass.

First the the rod went and while it was sitting on the street some crackhead decided to break into my kids truck and demo it.

I'll check with Dan for the glass. :frown:

You might want to call Jim Dickey in Gardena/Carson. I stopped by his yard a few months back and he had a couple of 60's sitting around. I was going to pick up the manual windows to put in my son's 62, but figured it would be more work than I wanted to get into....

There is business card add for Jim Dickey here on SoCal Land Cruisers website...

Thanks for the heads up on Dickey's shop Scott. I need a motor from a 62' I think, maybe not? The 62's have a

4.0 liter OHV Inline 6 cyl. with fuel injection and the 60's had a 4.2 liter carbureted motor. I'll call Jim and get the low down.

Nice to hear from you Jesse and Brent, take care guys.

No prob. One of the benefits of being unemployed is having wayyyyy too much time to spend on the net.

Good deal, thanks. I'm still talking with a couple of the other leads you posted.

Any idea what the dimensions are on a complete motor? I'm going to measure mine today but the weight would be helpful. I just got a quote both ways without a gatelift and it is about a $1.16 a pound. I guessed at 400 lbs but I really have no idea what it weighs. $465.61 from Scranton, PA to Costa Mesa, CA. :crybaby:

I've heard the 2F is about 750lbs. I'm not sure about the 3FE.

Holy cow, I'm used to working on vintage VW's. I think I'll call my brother in law who owns a shipping company in NY and see if ha can hook me up. Thanks for the info, you have been a big help.

No prob. I'll be picking your brain for places to go on the Pacific coast of Baja for my week trip there next month.

A week in Baja during winter almost spring, yes! Are you going to be surfing, sightseeing, both?

BTW my brother in law is covering the shipping for where ever I buy a motor. It's gonna save me about $700.00 for a motor from PA.

The motor is an 89, my rig is an 88. Any significant changes that I need to be concerned about? I'm going to post this question in the FJ60-62 forum in case your not an expert on the 62. :)

So you found a motor in PA? You can't beat the shipping deal, that's for sure. It's good to have friends/family in low places.
