I am looking for

- single wire, brass ( or similar), round, male & female with the nice rubbery clear boot - on both halfs

Does anybody have a source - or have seen an assorted kit box of them at BIG-R or Harbor Freight etc. I dont want to use the crappy flat blue yellow red crimp pieces o crap

I really like to be able to unplug - but if I have to I will solder and heat shrink (sigh)

Try Coolerman

Coolerman is a regular contributor to this site and he sells some of the wire connectors for the cruisers. He has a website in his signature that lists the connectors and some great tech advice on "refreshing" a tired old cruiser. Check him out.

Yep thanks - those are the one I need (as pictured below)- and I also found therm on coolermans wire site as well....

DANG @#$% I hate to be a tight wad - but I could buy a lot of other cool stuff for my 40 for the cost of these connectors (I need quite a few - as the previous owner hardwired a lot of stuff that should be more modular....

I really HATE the crappy YELLOW RED BLUE pieces of "ENGINEERING" !!!!! They just draw you eyes straight to them - and you start thinking The neighborhood BUTCHER practiced on the wire harness. - All of them all smashed flat with stray strands copper hanging out everywhere as if thay are growing hair - and crushed so flat the CHEAPO vinyl covers are cracked - Lucky if they used the right AWG size

I hate them so bad that I will go so far as to make my own ring terminals on the ends of wires by forming a neat ring on the wire itself PERFECTLY SIZED to the stud -( no misfits ).. and then apply some heat and solder and then I have a smooth vice pliers that I basically flatten it out a bit ( you could softly hammer it flat as well -- neat and clean. - but only for some places and applications.. and I GUARANTEE you cannot pull the wire out of the connector this way as its a one piece deal.

Soldering stranded wire defeats it's inherent flex. Crimp connections, when done properly, are much more reliable.

I agree the average shade tree mechanic, and even some "professionals", have no clue how to make a proper crimp connection. Buy quality connectors, own a quality crimp tool, and learn how to use them.

I really like the new 3M crimp connectors with the heat shrink sleeves built in, they make a very nice connection.
