Does anyone know of a shop in Vancouver that would be able to fix my driver's window on my 88 HJ61vx. Since I've had the truck the window was always shuddering at the very bottom of the window track. Recently when the window was all the way down the gears or ribbon wouldn't pick up the window when it was all the way down but when i gave it a push from the bottom the window was able to roll up with out a problem. NOW... the problem is worsening. At the same time I'd like to get someone to look at my driver's switch for the front passanger's window...i don't know if there's something wrong with the contact or the wiring, but I'm able to roll down the window but I have to use the passanger's button to roll it up.

Cheers, I'd appreciate any suggestions

ATEB can fix anything on that truck. There are a few other places but they have many parts in stock. Give them a call and see what they say.

Graphite powder works wonders on the window runners providing just the right amount of dry lubrication.
I put a new window crank in and powdered both my cruiser's window runners and they are truly like new.:D
If the powder dont fix it ,try cleaning the contacts in the door and also equally important, clean the battery terminals including the ground on the engine block.
Electric windows need a good clean 12v minimum power supply.

They are the 2 most common problems with Landcruiser electric windows;)

I had the same problem.. exact same problem with the 'shudder' from day one.. issue was a crack in the "scissor" mechanism.. When I had the window all the way at the bottom, i would often have to reach behind the door panel to give it a "push" to help it roll back up as you have had to do.... One of the arms on the scissor thing finally broke one day and the window didnt roll up at all.. I just took it out and welded it back together myself... Its pretty easy to get out.. two bolts to remove the window from the bottom rail on the scissor, lift the window out (tilt it a bit) then 6 bolts to remove the motor/scissor mechanism.. all in all took me about half an hour..Window is PERFECT now, no shuddering.

That sounds exactly like my problem... All I need now is welding equipment. LOL. Thanks for the heads up.

depending on how far up the arm it was cracked, you could probably fix it by bolting flat steel on both sides of the arm thing.. This wouldn't have worked in my case as the crack was quit close to the pivot..
