We have been getting opinions and advice about our purchase of 2016 LC with 60,000 miles for $51.9K (plus my state/county tax). However, the basic and power terrain warranty on it has expired. Until 2 days ago (after reading this forum and talking to differerent dealerships), we thought that our only options for extended warranty were Fidelity or other such 3rd parties.
However, I have spoke with 3 different Toyota dealers in the GULF STATES TOYOTA region (Mississippi, Texas etc) and they have informed me that the warranty they have is extension of Original toyota and can be obtained in their region even after the factory expires. The warranty is Toyota care (or Toyota extra care) and will be applicable across the nation. According to them, it is not a 3rd party warranty and is extension of the toyota warranty.
Can someone with prior experience confirm this? Our research led us to believe that this can only happen if you extend the original 3/36K warranty before it expires (which was not done in our case)?
