the BJ spacers are on the way, i'll be putting them in during the 4th weekend. according to what i red, it's pretty straight forward, the hardest part is to grind and cut the UCM to sit the spacers. if some of you who have done this before, can give me some tips and advises, that'd be greately appreciated. more detail is better.:)

i do have a question, curretly, my rig has 130k on her, do you recommend replace the factory balljoints anyway? or leave it as is. if replacing the BJ's is the way to go, how do you folks like the Downey Mega-travel balljoints?

Downey is only few minutes away, i can go pick them up tomorrow. they will be closed whole week next week, so, i need to make up my mind quickly.

thanks.

I installed these things about a month ago. It's really easy. Just grind the backside lip in the hole on the underside of the controll arm untill everything fits in place. You can get the spacers in the hole with out grinding, but the lip interferes with the cast part of the ball joint where the bolt holes are. It's pretty apparent how much to grind off.

I was able to re-use my old ball joints. Some guys like to replace them, but as long as everything comes apart OK and the old ones are good, why spend more money?
It's pretty easy to mangle the old studs when you tap them out, but the spacers have new ones anyway. I was able to get the old studs loose by taping them out one at a time with the remaining ones still tight and the ball joint still in place in the control arm. If you try to get them out after you separate the joint from the arm it's really really hard to hold the ball joint still!! I'm guessing this is why most people replace the ball joints...

I was told not to worry about the mega travel ball joints as long as I was using the stock bump stops, and I think the guys are right. I don't seem to have any issues with the travel of the stock joints.

Good luck and Wheel On!! I'm sure you'll get alot more info on this subject from the other fellas!!

thanks, man, i talked to the guys at Downey yesterday and they were pretty much saying the same thing. picked up a panhard drop bracket kit for 2-3 inch lift. very well made. i'll try to put it on next weekend see how it works.

thanks.
