I am rebuilding the power steering box on my 40. The PO said it was off a mini truck. All evidence, mount etc... points to that being the case. However I do not know the year. I need the last seal on the shaft. I thought part number 90311-32016 was the one. The internal diameter is the same but the outside diameter is about 2mm too small. two questions. 1 does anyone one know the correct part number for the seal? 2 Since this seal fits tight against the shaft will it work? Pictures are of the location of the seal, two of the original, and one of the new one.

I can't tell what steering box you have from your pic. I've resealed both the early and late IFS 4x4 boxes. I don't remember if that seal is different between the two. Look at Marlin Crawler Forum for posts on rebuilds or even their website for kits or info. There should be good pics to identify what box you have.

Or do like @45Dougal said and buy according to dimensions. Don't forget to get material compatible with the fluid and operating temps. Viton might be better than the typical Nitrile seals. Either should work.

Good luck with it.
