a guy that works for us has a 1993 4-runner. Motor blew up today it was a V6 3.0. Anyone have any insight on a good used motor.

how bad did he blow it? they're not too terrible to take the heads off and deal with if it's a matter of a head or a burnt valve. Shoot, I should get around to doing mine, it's a burnt valve so it's a simple matter of knocking the heads off and taking them to a machine shop. It is destined for an engine swap to something far more interesting than a 3VZE (which is just about anything really), but if the motor ran it would be apparently worth more than just scrap value.

that's pretty bad. surprising, the short blocks are usually not a problem on these.
