Is there a way to tell the weight rating of trailer axles? I found a trailer for a decent deal but no one is sure of the rating. I'm worried it might not be heavy duty enough for my needs. It seems like a homemade trailer so there's no manufacturer tag. It's got 5 lug wheels but not like regular ones in the center, they are much bigger centers

I'm looking for at least a 10k gvw trailer because it will be used mostly for transporting a bobcat. Are these axles typically rated for 5k or more?

If I was going to pull 5 tons, I think it's probably worth it in peace of mind alone to get something you know is rated to do so.

I agree, looks like a mobile home axle set-up. Keep in mind, those things are designed for a pull to final destination, likely less than 500 miles, then will be parked. If you plan on putting many miles on a trailer, you'd again be well-advised to consider something you know is rated for what you plan, rather than a cheap unknown.
