NE 4runner rust @40k miles (1 Viewer)

I washed it down for first 2 years of owning, 3rd year + 4th year not so much. The rust got to it anyway. Is it still ok to rust proof or is it not savable at this point?

How old is the truck? Looks pretty mint to me.

Maybe use a little elbow grease to get the scale off the weld joints, and hose it down with some used motor motor oil/FluidFilm. FWIW my 2004 GX looks a bit worse than the photos you posted, I don't lose much sleep over it.

Just start Fluid Filming it twice a year. No worries.

Early 2017 5th gen. I plan on adding some preventive coating and taking the surface rust off. Not sure how yet. I want this one to last 300k.
