I did a lot of reading and research and learned I could flat tow my FJ80. Tranny in park, transfer case in neutral, and away we went for a 6,000 mile adventure out west from the east coast. To do such, and because Blue Ox does not make a tow bar for FJ80's, I bought a jeep tow bar, cut/modified/welded it to create one that would tuck in behind the factory front bumper, completely out of sight and would mount using the factory captured nuts in the frame of the truck. Now my trip is over, I have to sell my '92 FJ80, so I am also selling this tow base plate - cheaper than you can buy the Jeep one to modify - for someone else to make their own adventure. $350, pins included, but you pay shipping or pick it up.
