Navigation question

OK. This is definitely the most lame question I could come up with, so bear with me !! On my 2001 with factory nav, is the directional pointer (way car is going) supposed to blink on the map screen ?? For some reason I noticed it blinking today and could not remember it blinking in the past. Maybe it has blinked before, but it seemed to catch my attention. OK that's it .......

mine blinks sometimes. i think that it is related to whether or not you have a 3D GPS fix.

My 01 LC direction arrow blinks too.....It was a just a solid red arrow for a few days....now has a gold circle around it and blinks constantly. I hate it and want to get rid of the blinking but don't know how. I ejected the Nav disc hoping it would reset, but nothing. I will play around with it more and will let you konw if I get rid of the blinking.
