Oh, Oh, I'll play.........I'm pretty good at this. :) Went back to your "weekend paint job" thread for a picture, looks to me like that's just a standard 8" Toyota mini truck axle. If your truck is an '84, it should have come with that axle. Toyota changed the axle a little bit somewhere in '83, you should have the '84-'85 axle. The shafts, ring gear, and differentials are all the same from '79-'85, the change was made to the stud size and bolt circle on the top and bottom bearing caps at the outer knuckles, so the only thing you would have to specify to order different is a high steer kit.

Awsome, gonna start Finding parts to domsomething cool upfront with
the suspension. Lol I figure if we replace everything upfront the death
wobble will go away?

N e ways Toyota '79-'85 front axle truss
You all have any experience with this merchant?
thinking about a 3 link/ herro coil springs, u ride much nicer
and ur way flexier too

Ballistic is a good company! we order stuff through them.. Shipping times are not all that great..

I Figured out my issues with my death wobble.. I had a few Gallons of water in one of my front tires (Blew the Bead off in a Wet Hot Tub in Moab)..

That axle truss is not going to help your death wobble at all. I'm not saying you don't need it, it would help with the axle's strength for sure. You need to jack up the truck and get both front tires off the ground. Then, grab the top of the tire and try to push and pull on it. If you have a significant amount of play, or can feel "slop" in the tire, you have bad bearings somewhere. Either in the wheel bearings, or the steering truinion bearings.

Then, grab the tire and move it like you were steering it from inside the cab. Anything that has a lot of play or is worn out should show up pretty easy. Replacing a bunch of parts with no plan is a bad idea........remember this simple rule always........Don't fix the symptom, fix the damn problem! Find out what is wrong and fix it.

Also, check your steering stabilizer. It should be tight with almost no play. That said, steering stabilizers help to hide steering problems and in a perfect world, you wouldn't need one. Unfortunately with big off road tires that are not truly round, you need a steering stabilizer. That brings up another thing, rotate your tires and see if your death wobble goes away. You may just have a bad, unbalanced tire. good luck.

Ya gotta long weekend here soo I'm going to rotate tires and play with e the toe/ throw it on stands and see if I can find the actual issue. Thanks for the info/advice!

I have 37's on my SOA'ed 60 with a front locker and don't have a steering stabilizer.

Tire balance, bad shocks, front end alignment, bad bearings and steering components can all cause the death wobble. Oh yeah uneven tire pressure can also cause that problem.
