Good evening gentlemen,

What is it and what does it do?

Located in the glove box, wired to 12volt, interestingly it fits an older 110volt household plug - definitely not an inverter, so what s it and what's supposed to do?

Yes trouble light, the same socket came be found on the fender inside the engine compartment on my 74

you mean, that isn't there as part of the factory inverter option?

There wasn't solid state inverters back in the early 70s it's 12volts
