We did the paint on the firewall first so when we refit or reinstall the body, we don't have to worry about it.

Refitting the body to the chassis. Since the chassis is already clean and painted, we covered this with platic sheets to make sure that it stays clean. Even if we start painting the body, the chassis will be protected from overspraying.

We aligned the body with the chassis and refitted new body support. Rubber dampers were made from old truck tires and carefully carved by skilled hands. These people can make anything. I'll try to post a video while they are doing a bushing. Anyway, they are much better than the originals because they are threaded.

Now that the body is on the chassis snuggly, I didn't want to tighten it not until we are done with painting, prepping for the paint job is in progress to this date. Old and dead paint came scraping off during the washing and we just had to finish by sanding and peeling. We are not taking any chances.

Niffa, I started work on this baby early January this year. I have one who works part time with my supervision. I also got a gardener who knows how to use the torch and he did the body repair. There was not so much rust and dents so it was a small job. We are now on the patching up the body with filler. It is still summer here and the temp is 104. We intend to spray paint by next week.
