I couldn’t resist the temptation to get in my Jeep and drive around in the high water, and my undercarriage was due for a cleaning.

This is the storm drainage ditch that is supposed to carry away the water from my street.
As you can see it is way over its capacity.
I estimate this ditch to be about 12 feet deep and 18-20 feet wide at the top.
I have no idea how much water is going through there, but it’s a lot.
All that water came down in one downpour that lasted about 2 hours.

This is the intersection adjacent to the drainage ditch in the previous shots.
Several cars that tried to drive through became disabled while I was taking these shots.
There were several Hispanic men standing around waiting for cars to become stranded.
Then they would jump in and help push them out. It looked like they were having fun.

Wow - missed the whole thing - my office just south of John Wayne is in the interior of the building. Didn't even hear it! Folks in the outside offices (windows) said it just poured very, very hard.

Wife called and reported hail in Laguna Niguel. Office management sent an email out about a tornado warning in the OC. Funny thing was that their email (The Irvine Company) was time stamped AFTER the warning had expired.

Very cool pics tho!!!

BTW - did your jeep get stuck too? I've got the cruiser here at the office today equiped with a winch and I've got a snatch strap on board to help your poor little jeep too if necessary. :flipoff2: Sorry, couldn't resist as this IS a landcruiser board after all.:lol::lol:

That was quite a storm. Cool flooding pics. All this water means lots of snow! I'm heading to mammoth Thurs night!

I heard on the radio that Huntington Beach had wind gusts to 93 MPH.

My wife just called & our power is out so time to get out the camping gear for lights and cooking.

That storm channel is going to be one of two things, either flushed out or clogged with debris.

I'd get some sandbags and build a barrier.

If you need some help, let me know.

Wow! That looks eerily like Atlanta a few months ago. Fortunately we did not have the very high wind. I hope that you all are able to keep yourselves and your families safe. I know that when we had the flooding here, the people here quickly became fans of my snorkel!

Wow, some serious flooding. I would love to drive in that with my 80.

Here are some pics of our Santa Ana store.
