Well Visors gave me one of their 100 Series hood visors for review. Overall it's an awesome product and I highly recommend it if it is something that you're into.
The fit and finish was very good, on par with the OEM side window visors that I have. These are made in New Zealand (engraved with P/N) It's rock solid once installed even though it doesn't use any double sided tape like the side window visors. The tint is an exact match with OEM. The WV owner told me that the manufacturer they used to produce these also made the OE ones back in the day. After seeing the finished product I'd assume so. Just to be nitpicky, the W clips had some minor flashing on the seams from the injection molding but that's the only thing I could find that doesn't look OEM.
Installation took all of 15 minutes. It comes with push clips, W clips, and hood protection film. No mods or dilling required. It installs like an OEM product, in between the weatherstrip and the hood. The W clips are made of really tough plastic. WV recommends heating them to soften them up making installation easier, but if you install it the way I did (pictured) with a mallet it just takes a few taps to start the clip and a few more to seat. Each W clip took me 30 seconds to do.
TBH, I wasn't sure I would like the look. I was going to pick up a JDM one years ago but it was too pricey for me. Also, my hood didn't need any protection from rocks (since the clear coat is gone and the condition is rough). But after installing it though I was blown away. Looks frickin' awesome! I really really dig it man. It makes the front end look sorta slimmer/shorter than it is. The wind deflection angle is high so this will probably really help with the bugs. This thing would look even better on a shiny hundy with clean paint.
IMO $160 is a steal. I asked for a coupon code for Mud members but no joy. The owner said they don't have very many of them anyway and expects them all to sell at retail. Hope this review helped anyone.
