Mike,

Did you also remove the stock rack's 4 runners that are attached with an adhesive? If you did I must ask how you removed them and got the adhesive off?

You mentioned "metal bars" which I interpret as these.

well the metal bars have two screws in them after you take those out they hold on plastic end caps. the caps come off right away when u remove the screws. then all you have to do it pull forward or back ward on the metal bars and they will slide out of the adhesive part. I just left the adhesive part and fixed the holes that way i can always go back to stock if want to.
