Hey there a hj47 noob here in the world of cruisers. Just bought an 82 hj47 troopie. So many questions I don't know where to start, well actually I do. #1 any recommendations on donor seats what fits best?( not afraid to fab brackets) thinking tan leather bucket style. It's my daily driver by the way.I will post pictures when I get a chance, it's nothin special yet. My long term plans include being buried in it ,so I'm sure the improvements will never end. Last question for now, other than in these forums where is the best place to get parts. Keep in mind I'm a firm believer you get what you pay for, cheaper in my mind isn't always better. No I don't have tons of money to burn, just tired of everything I turn over reading "made in China".
Thanks,
Matt

i'm sorry... but to answer your questions we need to see pictures of your lc first.... :flipoff2:

All i can say is check the FAQ and search (a google search on the site sometimes works better)

When it comes to seats the sky's the limit. As for parts, it all depends on what you need, and when you need it. CCOT, MFE, SOR are the major vendors ppl seem to go to...

You can also import parts from the Oz or Japan. ebay is a great resource, but you might be bidding against fellow mudders!!

I just bought a set of 2005 cadillac CTS leather seats (black) heated with power settings for $400. Caddy seats are good for obvious reasons but they have the seat belts built in so it's a cleaner look too. No much needed for modifications on the brackets either. check out Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market it's an online junkyard network. found a set just a few miles up the road.

Tahoe seats have the belts built in too.

HJ47slave,

Welcome to the delicious madness.:D Are you in the US/Canada? If so, please put your details on the registry- the link is in my signature line.

I have '95 Toyota 4Runner (Surf, if you are in Australia) SR5 seats in Patches (my HJ47), and I LOVE them. You can simply reverse them if you get them out of a LHD rig, or put them right in (with a few bracket mods either way) if they are out of a RHD Surf (assuming your HJ47 is RHD). I am 6'6", and they are the only seats I have found that really fit me well.

So... any photos:clap:

Cheers,

Josh
