I hunted long and hard for a 4cylinder in original mint shape and missed out on two in Oregon. This one has five speed and 3liter, so I grabbed it and will used it as my dailey until my BJ42 is finished over the winter.

Plans in future maybe 2.7 swap or possible diesel?

Nice Runner! It's really hard to find a good 2.7, and with a 3.0 in there already, a 3.4 swap would be much easier. My older son contemplated a 2.7 swap fpr his 22re, but I think he's just going to upgrade the 22re after more research and finding them so hard to find.

Thanks for all the kind words...

As for the swap, if you do some reading on Marlins site you see the performance gains and fuel economy are very good with 2.7, torque is strong also.

Not looking for much more power, better economy and very durable design.

You weren't b.s.'ing when you said you went and found a clean ride. Let's see ya do a full writeup as it sits now so you can open up a ROTM thread and keep posting to it as time goes along and you build it to suit your needs! :D

In the meantime..

MOAR PICTURES!!

:D Shane

*as for swapping the engine, seen these yet? http://www.chilkatdesigns.com/ToyotaMotor.html
The 3.4 swap would be sweet, then again, so would a 1uz like Robert's done. (RMA on yotayech.)

All I got for now, need to drive down and get the rig next week and will take further pictures....

Lot more to the story when I was trying to get this rig, I spoke with the owners and they were a little nervous being from outside the usa, yesterday they showed the vehicle and i sure it would be sold. The guy came in and offered them........get this 2300 and I offered them the full price of 2500:doh:.

Anyways I thought for sure I would miss out again, karma was on my side...

It is kinda nice knowing you can build up a rig with a weight to power ratio that'll compare with today's stuff for about 1/3 the cost, as long as the interior bits and everything else are good and you don't need to go parts hunting. :D

Why I still have ever to own a brand new vehicle. :D

Looking forward to the writeup. :steer:

Got her home this week, 400miles and it runs great plus I like the power of the 3litre with 270MILES .

Intererior is super clean, has its share of dents and scratches but over all I am very very happy and look forward to the build up.

Leaning towards three linking the front and lifted springs in the rear, front and rear tubed bumpers, leave the wheel base and try not to cut sheet metal for now:hhmm:.

Pictures later today.

More:p 33inchers on 15s used.

Poor little runner surrounded by cruisers, wifes 100 series is on the street..

Little rubbin with the front tires while turning.

Looking into a LJ78 front axle with coils and radius arms to install.

Very clean 4runner.

Here is a cool tech tip for you: A bellhousing from an '05+ 4 cyl 5 speed tacoma will allow you to bolt a 3rz to your existing R150f. So you need a 2TR bellhousing with a short (160mm) input shaft.
