Suspension-
Bilstein 6112 front coilovers 3rd highest out of 4 lift setting
JBA Upper control arm
Bilstein 5100 rear shock, Icon Overlander 3" rear springs, MetalTech4x4 spring isolator, 4runner upper spring isolator/bumpstop

Protection-
RCI Engine, trans, transfer case 3/16" steel skid plates, fuel tank skid 3/16" steel. 3/16" steel Differential Skid and Lower Control arm Skids, Rustoleum Forged Hammered silver paint.

OPOR GX470 sliders, painted in Rustoleum Forged Hammered Black. Still need to install, the RCI crossmember interferes with the middle mounting plate of the sliders so the Sliders mounting will be cut where it interferes and then I'm going to have the sliders welded on after bolting them on.

Still need to order rear lower link skids from Metaltech4x4.

Wheels and Tires: FN f(X) Pro wheels in dark gunmetal glossy. Toyo Open Country ATII Extreme LT285/75/17 LRE (34/11.50/17) Had to remove front wheel well liners, trim front bumper corners, body mount chop.

future plans...

MetalTech4x4 Front bumper with light bar, corner lights, come up winch.
MetalTech4x4 Rear Bumper and Tire Carrier/double gas can holder
Freshwater water tank mounted in spare tire location, filtered output, 12V pump
Eccotemp L5 Hot water shower, mounted to rear swing out door

Looks awesome! Love the big tires.

Nice build! Thanks for mentioning the JBA UCA's - never heard of them before.

Did you use a discount code when you ordered from JBA? If so, what was it and how much off?

No, I didn't look for one. I felt the price was good and the product looked good. I like the way they mount their ball joint, and that it's got a zertz fitting. I'm really happy with it so far. Installation was not too hard.

They want grease every 3-6k, which seems pretty frequent...but apparently the ball joints are for a 3/4 ton truck, so hopefully they'll last a while!

Your GX looks great! Good job. I spent a little while under mine today looking for weak points for off road rocky driving. I noticed that the muffler is like a target waiting for a big rock to hit it. Do you have any suggestions for how to protect it?

Which Bilstein 6112s did you get? There are several kits available that have different numbers.

Bilstein Kit 46-227287 has Shocks 24-227261 and 600 lbs Coils E4-FD1-Y005829 and it's for a FJ Cruiser.

Bilstein Kit 47-260153 is for 2003-09 V8 4Runner but not sure what shock it uses. Same coil as above. [Edit...I'll answer my own question...from a picture on Amazon it looks like the shock says 24-260169 for this kit]

Just wondering since I don't see theses details posted often for gx470

Any updates on those UCAs? I'm curious how they're holding up.
