You're getting 15 mpg? Something must be wrong with your truck...:flipoff2:

You guys are all right. I guess I just figured it would be better and I'm surprised. Nothing that makes me like the truck any less. So far I love it. I haven't actually calculated mileage. Now I'm sorta afraid. I just figured a rough estimate of 15. I might have to look into the info on Slee about the larger tanks. I do want abs so I guess PT is out. I didn't know about that. I just got so much crap from the greenies about the mileage on my Hummer that I figured anything would be better:D. I appreciate all the feedback I've gotten. The K+N is out. I've just heard too many mixed reports, and never gotten an increase in my own experiences with vehicles in the past. I guess I'll just have to suck it up. Or maybe research a diesel swap...

just wanna chime in.... Any SUV on the market today (new or used) close to the same weight as the 80 gets 11-14 mpg. You ain't gonna do any better then that.
Most just drive faster ...

I personaly average over 35 mpg. Of course I calculate that by letting my wife drive the 80 everyday (short trips)and I drive my VW TDI (45+ mpg driving 75mph+)to work and on most other "road trips. The greenies can bite me as I average better mpg than most of them in thier economy cars and much better than the traditional greeny suberu or vw bus. Plus I run Bio Diesel so I could technically adjust my mpg because of the lower emision. Get a commuter car and use your cruiser for when you need the space of the traction.

Oooh... VW TDi. (What can I say, I love the VW...) The only thing about a second car is now your insuring and licensing two cars, you have maint on two cars and you have to buy another car... It seems almost cheeper to just not look at the reciept when you fill up the 80!

OK, I filled up today at the same pump I filled up last week, so this should be accurate.

180.3 miles of driving consisting mainly of city, run-around driving with about a 15 mile trail ride 1-2 miles of that in low range. It took 16.028 gallons to fill it to the pump clicking off (why I used the same pump) that calculates to 11.249 MPG.

I'm sure that once I've accomplished my OCD maintenance tasks to where I feel more comfortable with the reliability of the truck and use the highway more those numbers will improve. I don't think that is a bad baseline though for a 190K mile, 2.5 ton vehicle

Dave
