Been looking for a decent 100 series for a few months. Finally settled on this 2000 with 275K miles, a few minor cosmetic issues, but with upgrades I would have done anyway- New 2.5" lift, new 33" tires, TJM front bumper and 12K winch.

Drove it 5 hours home today and have some questions about the things I think I need to fix-

It needs brake rotors, the fronts are warped. I notice some brake noises change depending on if I turn left, right or go straight. I think wheel bearings are loose although it tracks pretty good. While I'm replacing rotors and pads and front wheel bearings what other items need attention "while I'm in there"?

The radiator needs replaced and the AC is inoperative- This cruiser has very light corrosion like it spent a short time around salt, but the aluminum AC lines seem especially corroded. This cruiser has rear AC and I notice some of the rear AC lines look a bit mangled. Indicating they've been taken apart in an attempt to fix leaks that was not successful? I see I can get an AC condenser for without rear AC. Would that be a good way to simplify the AC system, eliminating those leaks? Or is deleting the rear AC more complex than that? I would like to replace the condenser same time as radiator.

Thanks for your help!

I’d look into the condition of the cv axles, upper/lower ball joints and even the control arm bushings while you’re changing the front hubs. As far as the rear AC I believe there is a delete kit available that can be found on this site.

even though the AC lines have threaded connections, they essentially cannot ever be taken apart without destroying them. Many people block off the rear AC lines and just run with the front system if the rear lines are compromised.

read up on how to service ( repack bearings) on the front hubs and properly set the bearing pre-load, etc.

Nice, lets see a pic of that pig........You could consider doing sway bar end links but that's probably good enough . Stick with OEM parts on all things when possible. How is it doing with that lift ? I feel like the 100 series just gets worse and worse the taller it gets

Why does radiator need replacing?

I am not a fan of the rear AC delete and neither is The Car Care Nut.
Why not? Its a simple solution to an otherwise expensive problem....If done properly it can be reversed if a future owner wants to make it all work...I really wanted to keep mine working, the idea of it coming out of all vents in the rear is nice but now I'm happy I didn't blow a bunch of money on repairs...the front AC cools down the entire vehicle + dog in back no problem . Lines cut and capped under the hood at high point near firewall
